Beginning February 14, 2009, consumers will no longer have access to Experian FICO scores through myFICO.com, according to Credit.com. While Experian will peddle its PLUS score and VantageScore, consumers will no longer have a way to monitor their Experian FICO scores. The decision brings an end to the six-year relationship between the two companies. From Credit.com:An unnamed sourced at Fair Isaac told Credit.com that the move comes as a “surprise that, particularly in a time of tremendous economic uncertainty, Experian would deny American consumers the ability to obtain their FICO scores.” The move isn’t unexpected given the contentious nature of the lawsuit and the millions of dollars of credit score revenue that Fair Isaac recognizes each quarter from their partnership with Experian.Meanwhile, one of my readers passed along an email that he received from myFICO earlier today (click letter to enlarge):It’s an interesting development indeed. We’ll see if Experian and Fair Isaac can work something out before February 14, 2009.You can read the rest of the story here (link). You can read Fair Isaac’s Q&A on the situation here (link). And you can read Fair Isaac’s press release here (link).Related Articles:It’s Time For Fair Isaac and TransUnion To Modernize The FICO Score They Sell To The Public
